Residential, commercial & industrial painting in Bakersfield, CA
Interior and exterior painting across Bakersfield — stucco, siding, cabinets and commercial premises.
Bakersfield is where this business is based and where most of the work is. It is also a genuinely demanding place to paint, and the two reasons are the summer and the dust.
The summer decides the schedule. Weeks above 100 degrees mean a west-facing stucco wall is far hotter than the air by early afternoon, and most coatings should not go onto a surface much above 90. Paint applied onto a hot wall skins before it can level or bond, which is what produces lap marks and early peeling. Working an exterior here in July means starting early and following the shade around the house, which takes longer than working straight through and is the only way to get a film that lasts.
The dust decides the preparation. This is the fourth most productive agricultural county in the country and one of the biggest oil-producing ones, and the valley air carries fine agricultural and road dust more or less continuously. It bonds onto stucco and siding rather than sitting loose, so paint applied over an unwashed wall is bonded to the dust and not to the wall. That is why an exterior job here starts with a washdown rather than a rinse.
On the inside the same dust settles on trim and around return-air vents and grays out a flat finish in hallways and kitchens faster than it would elsewhere, which is a good argument for a washable finish in traffic areas. And the daily swing between a 105-degree afternoon and an air-conditioned interior opens hairline cracks at drywall seams in the same places every year — filled and caulked properly, or they telegraph straight back through the new coat.

Ray was great to work with very attentive and his response time was perfect. He did a fantastic paint job on my garage doors at a very reasonable price for the quality he provides. Would definitely recommend and will be using him again myself for any other painting project we might have.
Ray’s team did a great job on my house. They were all very friendly and let us know when they were going to arrive each day and kept the place clean as they worked. It’s nice to have a good crew when the job spans several days. The paint job was 5 stars with a good primer base and they got all the high points of the house and even painted the metal chimneys on the roof. I would definitely recommend them. I got exactly what I wanted, and the house looks great now. They did sanding, scraped all old paint where needed and caulked the windows before the job which nobody else said they would do. Thanks Ray, it was nice working with you!
Ray’s team did a great job on my garage doors. They had to cover a darker color that had become chalky, and used a superior product meant to withstand the sun on our west-facing doors. They were patient with me when I was unsure of which sheen I should use, and I’m very happy with the results! The new color matches the color of my home, which was also a concern of mine.
