Residential, commercial & industrial painting in Shafter, CA
Painting in Shafter — a fast-growing valley town eighteen miles out of Bakersfield.
Shafter grew by nearly three thousand people between the 2010 and 2020 censuses, which for a town of twenty thousand is a substantial change, and a lot of that shows up as newer housing and new logistics and industrial buildings out toward the highway.
Newer stucco has a particular quirk worth knowing about. Fresh stucco is strongly alkaline and stays that way for weeks, and paint applied before it has cured properly can saponify — the alkali attacks the binder and the film goes soft, patchy or discolored, usually in streaks. On a new build or a recent addition the question is not what color but whether the substrate is ready, and if it is not, the answer is either to wait or to use a masonry primer specified for it.
On the older housing stock nearer the center of town the problems are the ordinary valley ones: chalked south and west elevations, hairline cracking from thermal movement, and trim and fascia that have taken more sun than anything else on the building.

Ray was great to work with very attentive and his response time was perfect. He did a fantastic paint job on my garage doors at a very reasonable price for the quality he provides. Would definitely recommend and will be using him again myself for any other painting project we might have.
Ray’s team did a great job on my house. They were all very friendly and let us know when they were going to arrive each day and kept the place clean as they worked. It’s nice to have a good crew when the job spans several days. The paint job was 5 stars with a good primer base and they got all the high points of the house and even painted the metal chimneys on the roof. I would definitely recommend them. I got exactly what I wanted, and the house looks great now. They did sanding, scraped all old paint where needed and caulked the windows before the job which nobody else said they would do. Thanks Ray, it was nice working with you!
Ray’s team did a great job on my garage doors. They had to cover a darker color that had become chalky, and used a superior product meant to withstand the sun on our west-facing doors. They were patient with me when I was unsure of which sheen I should use, and I’m very happy with the results! The new color matches the color of my home, which was also a concern of mine.
